Two big brands are joining forces in a move that will enhance an ever-expanding portfolio. Scientific Games, a global leader in lottery, recently reached an agreement with Kentucky-based EQL Games to add the studio’s content to SG’s platforms across the globe.
Scientific Games, which offers an assortment of lottery draw games, scratch-offs, and more, has an extensive customer base that includes approximately 150 lotteries in 50 countries worldwide.
Steve Hickson, VP of Digital Games for Scientific Games, referenced those customers in a press release about the EQL partnership:
“We welcome EQL Games to the SG Content Hub Partner Program, broadening yet further the variety of engaging iLottery games and licensed brands available to our global customers and their players in a totally frictionless way.”
EQL has developed notable lottery titles since launching in 2023
EQL Games made headlines by creating the first draw game in the US based on a live sporting event. The company has a portfolio that includes more than 200 games and eight lottery contracts.
EQL boasts a game library of scratch-offs, eInstants, fast play games, and more that are produced in both its own studio and other international hubs, as well.
EQL Games Founder and CEO, Brad Cummings, said in the press release:
“EQL Games believes in ever-evolving content innovation to keep players entertained. We made the strategic decision to join Scientific Games’ unique partner program to broaden lotteries’ access to our products and the products of the studios we represent. Great content is the key to helping create an even brighter future for the lottery industry in the US and abroad.”
Another new partnership and Olympic-themed options from EQL Games
EQL has expanded its operations considerably since its debut in 2023. In June, the company reached an agreement with Sweden-based Random State, to further strengthen its gaming portfolio.
A number of EQL game options capitalize on the popularity of the sports world, including some recent patriotic titles that are built around the upcoming Olympics.
A Team USA-themed fast play progressive lottery game is currently available in New Jersey, while a similar fast play and scratch-off version was released in Indiana.
Scientific Games makes headlines with noteworthy collaborations and products
Scientific Games has also been enhancing its own operations with new partnerships and innovations.
Earlier this month, SG announced an extension with Fremantle that will keep the iconic game-show brands the Price is Right, Family Feud, and Press Your Luck, in the SG portfolio.
In addition, Scientific Games’ SCiQ systems – a lottery dispenser that provides real-time tracking of sales trends and data – have also been deployed extensively in the last year. In 2023, the machines were installed across Texas. Overall, they are present in 13 states within the country.
Illinois, which offers both retail and its Illinois online lottery, introduced a SCiQ system in approximately 10% of its retailers during the 2024 fiscal year. Initial data reports showed a 3-6% growth over non-SCiQ locations, bolstering plans to continue deployment.
Illinois intends to expand the SCiQ systems to approximately 33% of retail locations within a few years.
