Scientific Games, a global lottery leader in instants, Keno, lottery draw games, and more, has built its reputation in part on engaging content that can sometimes bring big wins to its players.

But this time, one of its own executives earned the victory.

Earlier this week, SG’s Instant Products Account Director, Jeff Fain, received a 2024 Powers Award from the North American State and Provincial Lotteries Association.

The award is presented to lottery industry personnel who possess the highest achievement, drive, and integrity in their work.

New Mexico Lottery chooses Fain for 2024 NASPL Powers Award

The Powers Awards are named in honor of Edward J. Powers, “the Father of US Lotteries,” and are considered among the highest honors in the industry for their recipients.

Fain, who joined Scientific Games in 2012, has worked with several US lotteries to help responsibly grow their instant game portfolios. He was nominated for the award by the New Mexico Lottery.

John Schulz, President of Americas and Global Instant Products for Scientific Games, said in a press release:

“We’re extremely proud of Jeff’s work with our US customers and appreciate the New Mexico Lottery for recognizing his contributions to the success of its instant game portfolio. He has approached his work with the Lottery as 100% collaborative and cultivated a fantastic customer relationship with its team.”

Scientific Games also won Communitas Awards this month

The Powers Award gave Scientific Games another accolade in a month filled with them. On July 10, the company received two 2024 Communitas Awards for business operations that are designed to be both socially and environmentally friendly.

Scientific Games won in the category of Ethical and Environmental Responsibility: Green Initiatives for a new state-of-the-art facility that serves The National Lottery in the United Kingdom.

The company also took home the award in the category of Company Community Service: Community Partnership for an innovative urban farm built on its Montreal campus. The farm project is developing community-inclusive, sustainable agriculture alongside an SG site that produces instant games for the Canadian Lottery.

SG is a lottery leader in America and abroad

As evidenced by its awards, Scientific Games is a key player in both the United States and the international gaming industry, with approximately 150 lottery customers in 50 countries worldwide. Overall, Scientific Games is responsible for 70% of instant game sales on the global market and has a role in 19 of the top 20 performing lotteries in terms of instant sales.

In America, Scientific Games recently extended its partnership with the Louisiana Lottery to be the state’s primary provider of scratch-off games. SG also reached agreements this quarter with lotteries in Washington and Kansas.

The company features an extensive footprint across the US and makes continuous efforts to grow its gaming portfolio and customer base.
