Scientific Games is feeling good about its Fast Play games.
These lottery games differ from scratch tickets or online lottery games like eInstants.
Fast Play is comparable to a scratch ticket, but it is already scratched.
Players just need to a look at the ticket and follow the instructions to see if it is a winner.
SG is reporting a lot of success with its Fast Play games in a variety of different states. That includes its latest addition, the Kansas Lottery.
Fast Play generates $1.5 billion in FY24 sales
Fast Play is seeing a rise in interest across the US.
The games are available in 27 different state lotteries.
According to SG, Fast Play generated a total over $1.5 billion in sales for fiscal year 2024 in the US.
Some of SG’s top customers – Arizona, Iowa, Maine Maryland, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Vermont – each had an increase in Fast Play sales year over year.
Maryland recorded $82.4 million in its Fast Play sales for FY24, up 4.2% YoY. The Maine Lottery grew sales of the games by nearly 20%, up to $16.3 million.
Two more unannounced states are set to join the SG Fast Play team in the next 24 months, according to the company.
Vermont leads Fast Play market
The Vermont Lottery is in the driver’s seat when it comes to retail weekly per capita sales of Fast Play in the US.
Vermont made the move to SG with its Fast Play products in 2022.
Following that, Fast Play sales in the state increased 93% over the next year. In fiscal year 2024, sales increased another 33% for the product.
The per capita sales of the games in Vermont were $23 in 2023. The next closest state was more than $9 behind it.
Vermont features six different Fast Play games that range from $1 to $10.
The state also features five different “Fast Play Pro” games that are progressive jackpots. These games range from $1 to $20.
Kansas debuts Fast Play for FY25
The Kansas Lottery is the newest addition to SG’s Fast Play roster.
Kansas debuted the games this past summer.
These two have been working together since 2018, as SG has provided the Kansas Lottery with systems technology.
Kansas Lottery Executive Director Stephen Durrell spoke on the partnership and addition of Fast Play in a press release.
“Our vision is to continue working with Scientific Games to modernize the Kansas Lottery with new technologies and new games like Fast Play so that we remain exciting and relevant to our players and retailers, and continually improve our contributions to the state of Kansas.”
Kansas is offering 10 different Fast Play games that range from $1 to $20.
These games are available at self-service kiosks and clerk-operated retail desks.
Through just two months of FY25, Fast Play has already generated $1.6 million in sales for Kansas.
VP of Lottery Content for Scientific Games, Leslie Badger, says the company is happy to see Kansas’ early results with the product.
“We worked with the Kansas Lottery’s team to implement a strategic, targeted approach to launch its new Fast Play games, employing a managed portfolio strategy similar to our proven method for scratch-off games. This requires advanced data analysis to do correctly, and we are very pleased with the results in Kansas.”
