Allwyn North America, which is the private manager of the Illinois Lottery, recently received a top honor.
Last month, the company was named one of Crain’s 2024 Best Places to Work in Chicago.
The label is given out based on an evaluation of workplace policies, working conditions, benefits, practices, corporate culture, and demographics.
Employees are also surveyed to help assess their experience at each company.
The Illinois Lottery has a full array of retail and online lottery games, which are managed by Allwyn North America.
Allwyn benefits program key to award
Allwyn North America received its award from Crain’s during a reception on Sept. 12.
Allwyn NA Vice President of People and Culture, Lynette Karabis, spoke on the honor in a press release:
“A top priority at Allwyn is our employees’ well-being, and we have developed a workplace where individuals can thrive, grow, and develop their skills and careers with us long-term. We listen to feedback from our team members, offer additional innovative benefits, and aim to enhance our company culture in creative ways.”
Allwyn North America says it provides exceptional benefits to its 110+ employees.
Among those include:
- Tuition reimbursement for continued education
- Student loan repayment benefits
- College savings plan contribution matching
- 401k immediate vesting policy with employer match of up to 6%
- Quarterly wellness stipend
- Hybrid working arrangement
Online lottery sales grew by 31% in Illinois
In March 2023, Allwyn acquired the Camelot Lottery Solutions Group.
At the time, Camelot was the operator of the Illinois Lottery. Thus, Allwyn took over that responsibility.
The partnership has been successful thus far.
In fiscal year 2024, Illinois recorded $3.86 billion in total lottery sales, an improvement of 6.9% year over year.
As one of the states with online lotteries, Illinois’ iLottery growth has been a catalyst for its overall sales improvement.
In FY24, Allwyn reported that Illinois had $687 million in online lottery purchases. That was a 31% jump compared to FY23.
Since launching its iLottery in FY18, Illinois has grown from $43 million in annual sales to its $687 million mark of last year.
General Manager at Allwyn North America, Keith Horton, commented on the success of the Illinois Lottery in the release:
“As the private manager of the Illinois Lottery, Allwyn North America has delivered exceptional results over the length of our contract – including record returns to the State of Illinois over the past three years in support of K-12 education and good causes. Allwyn’s success is due to talented people and a collaborative culture. Beyond the benefits we provide to our employees, we offer meaningful work with opportunities for growth and development.”
