Lotto.com announced expansion into its ninth state on Thursday.

The online lottery courier service is now available in Nebraska. Residents can begin using the app immediately.

Along with Powerball and Mega Millions tickets, Lotto.com will offer digital instant win games in the state.

Rob Porter, General Counsel for Lotto.com, spoke about how happy he was to see the expansion:

“I am so excited to bring Lotto.com to my home state of Nebraska. We are honored to be providing Nebraskans with a convenient way to order their favorite official state lottery tickets, and we look forward to celebrating future wins.”

Digital scratch tickets now offered in Nebraska

Lotto.com is available in nine states, but not all provide digital scratch tickets.

Nebraska is one of five states to offer this option through Lotto.com. It joins Colorado, Ohio, Oregon, and Texas.

Thomas Metzger, CEO of Lotto.com Inc., is excited to build off the company’s success in Colorado. He said:

“Building on our success in neighboring Colorado with both draw and scratch games, we are committed to enhancing the accessibility and convenience of the lottery. We want to serve Nebraskans everywhere they are, from the panhandle to the sandhills and all across the state. We look forward to bringing the thrill of Lotto.com and incremental funds to the Cornhusker state!”

Lotto.com has partnered with “Players Café” in Omaha as its local retailer in Nebraska.

Lotto.com works independently from Nebraska Lottery

The state of Nebraska doesn’t have legalized iLottery. You can’t go to the state’s website or lottery app and purchase tickets.

Lotto.com is a courier service that allows customers to purchase lottery tickets online within a given state. In this case, Nebraska.

Customers can use their computer, laptop, or mobile device to access Lotto.com.

From there, you can purchase Powerball, Mega Millions, or popular scratch ticket games from your state on the app.

A customer has to create an account and provide banking information to purchase tickets. Once you buy tickets with Lotto.com, the company then goes out and acquires a retail version of your ticket. It is then scanned and sent to you to verify it is yours.

Lotto.com notifies players of their winnings, which will be transferred into their account. If you win a major prize, Lotto.com will securely deliver your ticket to take to the state offices.

NE Lottery benefits four different funds

Proceeds from the Nebraska Lottery go toward helping the environment, education, compulsive gambling, and the Nebraska State Fair.

The Nebraska Education Improvement Fund and Nebraska Environmental Trust Fund each receive 44.5%. The Nebraska State Fair sees 10%. Lastly, the Compulsive Gamblers Assistance Fund gets 1%, plus the first $500,000 in fund proceeds each year.

In fiscal year 2023, a total of $55.8 million was spread out among these funds.

Lotto.com touts a 1.8 million customer base. It also says it has contributed approximately $80 million to state-funded lottery initiatives.
