Before heading down to the track for the Kentucky Derby, one usually feels obligated to don one’s best threads — and hats — as part of the pageantry. However, a game of Champions Raceway brings you all the excitement of the Derby with none of the inconvenience. Try your hand at filling out the winning race card when picking your horses to win. Choose wisely, and you could earn a six-figure payout.
How to play
Champion Raceway takes all the guesswork out of betting on the races. In fact, the game makes things easier than ever with simple instructions in a digital interface. Make your picks according to the details provided, and you’re ready to win. Here’s how to get started.
Using the – and + symbols, you can decrease or increase, respectively, the wager on the next race. With the information (i) icons, you’ll be able to learn more about each horse. After some careful consideration, drag and drop prize values under five of the eight numbers available. A quick pick option is also available to make those selections for the player at random. Once the horses are chosen, click or tap Confirm.
Use the Spin or Auto Spin buttons to begin the races. Each spin will advance horses according to the unique symbols that appear next to their positions on the ticket. These symbols include:
- > – Advances a horse one space forward
- >> – Advances a horse two spaces forward
- >>> – Advances a horse three spaces forward
- 2x – Doubles the current horse’s prize value
The first horse to cross the finish line wins. If one of your five horses makes it over the line first, you’ll be awarded the corresponding prize.
Wagering levels
Champion Raceway allows players to choose from seven different ticket values. Those prices range from $0.50 to $20 per ticket, while prizes range from $0.50 up to $120,000. The overall odds to win in a game of Champion Raceway come out to 1:3.00 at all ticket values. This means players can theoretically win one in every three games they play.
